Who’s Who in the European Union?
Mastery Objective:
Understand the role and function of the European Union
Essential Questions:
- How is the EU structured to organize the diverse member nations?
- How do various countries benefit from membership? What do various countries bring to the whole?
Overview: For this project you will thoroughly research ONE European country and create a PREZI presentation for an in-class EU Summit. Your research will focus on how your country meets the criteria for membership in the European Union, and shows how your country can benefit from, and brings benefits to, the EU. You will be assessed on the quality and quantity of your information, your presentation skills, and the appeal of your PREZI.
My Country: __________________________________________
Three areas of research to consider:
- The European Union only accepts countries into the EU who meet the following criteria- how can you show your country meets these criteria:

- The country must have a government that is stable and strong enough to follow all the rules of laws of the European Union and enforce those laws within its boundaries.
- What does your country have to offer the European Union?
- What products or resources does your country have that other countries might want or need?
- What natural attractions or strengths does your country offer?
- What strengths and skills do your people have?
- How can your country help other countries in the EU?
- What benefits will your country get from being a member of the European Union?

- What problems might arise if your country became a member of the EU?
